Private Swim Lessons

We offer private swim lessons for ages 3+ during Spring and Summer semesters (April 1st -August 1st). Lessons are taught by American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors. 

Cost

Our 2025-2026 private lesson rates are listed below. Each lesson is 35 minutes. Private lessons are only available to members of the USA Student Recreation Center.

Private lessons are only offered one-on-one and the cost is $40 per 35 minute session. Lessons are taught Monday-Friday from 1-8 pm (based on pool availability) and are available for ages 3 and up.  These are the only times private lessons are offered based on instructor availability.  We do not offer private lessons on weekends. 

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Participants may withdraw from private swim lessons at any time; however, all services are non-refundable. 

Cancellations/Rescheduling: Participants must request any cancellation/rescheduling at least four (4) hours before a scheduled appointment. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your session and the participant will be charged. Participants should contact the swim instructor directly to cancel/reschedule a session. Lessons that are canceled due to weather will be rescheduled, but must be used before the expiration date. 

Late policy: Swim instructors are obligated to wait only 10 minutes for no-show participants. After 10 minutes, participants will be charged as a cancellation. Sessions that start late will end on time.

Registration (Opens March 1st each year)

  1. Visit our portal to register beginning March 1st. 
  2. You will be contacted by a swim instructor within 5 days of registration.  Lessons will begin once session days and times are confirmed and payment is made.  

All payments must be made online via credit or debit card, using our portal.  Per university policy, we are unable to take credit card payments over the phone.

Waiver

All swim lesson participants must digitally sign this waiver. The waiver is good for one year and must be on file before the start of a swim session. A parent or guardian must sign the waiver for members and guests under age 18.
